Update (25/05/2012) : I'm hosting a smaller version of the new picture instead of the full-size here... dA preview was just way too ugly and blurred everything. So let's try this one instead. I followed one of !SkipShadowfang's advices( I couldn't fix the other things even though I agree with them) and so I added a few water/foam drops near Aloka's hind legs. I also made the shadows of the wooden pillars much more long, following *i-eat-dogs precious suggestion. Following this I decided to re-do the two characters' shadows on the ground. I also detailled a bit more the shading on Démon's back, not much changes but I feel better with it now Thanks again everyone for your help and support
REAL FULL-VIEW, BIG FILE, HERE: [link] Loads of details... as always. Critiques are encouraged as always
Finalyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy my part of trade for the awsome and great *Pample! We agreed to draw her OC Démon and my OC Aloka fighting each others, since they're both dominants
Man, I was cursed with this trade! I had no real idea of what I wanted to do... So whenever I draw Aloka, by the time I got a passable Démon I wasn't satisfy anymore with Aloka... so I redraw Aloka and by the time I had a new Aloka I disliked the previous Démon, etc... Like a double douzen of time... A damned circle lol.
Until suddenly I could visualize Aloka in my head one night, and the color shemes of the background. Only Démon remained a trouble. Until again I could see him in my head with more details of the background.
Anyway, here it is at last! And I'm quite happy with it. I tried new technics for the background and most it was done by accident lol. Don't ask me how I did the sun and lights on the water and all, because I really have no idea how I did it!
Blah, the huge rock-mountain-thingy on the top right corner is supposed to be the Mont Saint-Michel faraway. *Pample is Normand, a Viking; and I'm a Breton at heart, a Celt. Normandy and Brittany are "fighting" to know to who's belong this Mont Saint-Michel. So I thought it'd be a nice idea. So Démon symbolizes Normandy Normandy and Aloka Brittany. It seems like whatever I do, norse and celtic stuff is always on my way

Wow! This is awesome and an interesting change from your usual snow and flowers. The color scheme is wonderful, the sky and lighting perfect, and the subtle reflections are amazing. I think that you should add some droplets of water streaming of of Aloka's paws, though. If she touched the water before leaping then her paws should be wet. Also, you might want to smudge some parts of the white crests on the waves so they blend a little with the rest of the orange ocean. I don't have a lot of experience doing ocean scnes, but I think that that might make it more foamy-looking. Keep up the awesome work!
